Better late than never!
Here's a post about our gig at the Rdeči revirji festival in Hrastnik on 26 May 2012.
Unfortunately the concert was two hours late due to the weather, so instead of an open-air eight p.m. gig it turned into a ten p.m. soliloquy in the local community hall. Naturally, most people were so damn anxious to see us that they had all gone home or dived into the local bars before that, while the few who had waited then lamented the horrible fact that no beer was sold inside the hall. Which is absolutely horrible, I agree, especially if you have to put up with us.
Well, too fucking bad - especially because the two sound guys in charge of the technical aspects of the event, whom we've never met before, were great. They had a truckload of fancy equipment with them and they invested a lot of effort into what we can only describe as "the best sound for an audience of ten people EVER!".
If you don't believe it, here are a couple of tracks. Note that we've recorded the gig with a simple Zoom H2N handheld recorder, mid-side mode... But with pretty surprising results, at least in my opinion.
Here are also some photos. Yep, they're totally lame, but this is all we have, in terms of photographic evidence. Due to the whole mess of trying to set up everything on a stage not originally intended for the concert and wrap up a hasty sound check as soon as possible nobody remembered to take any other photos. Especially not during the gig, obviously...
Perhaps I should also mention that this might have been our last live appearance for a while. Even though 15 new tracks are already in the works for an upcoming EP as well as a new full-length album, the two founding members of Cynicism Management are moving to Berlin rather permanently in October, so the live band is going to be on hiatus for a while.
